Lisa takes an active role in her husband's racing endeavors. She handles all team marketing and oversees the day-today operations of the team. She is the stabilizing and driving force of Mike Edwards Motorsports. According to Mike, "I couldn't do this program without Lisa." She was instrumental in Mike's return to the sport with the Nickens Brothers in the 1980's. Lisa is a born and raised native of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She and Mike married over 20 years ago and live just outside of Tulsa in Coweta, Oklahoma.

Most Memorable Championship Moment: "The win in Charlotte, that was the beginning of the countdown, the first time Mike lead the points, and the whole team was there for the win. Charlotte was the beginning of the championship run, everything that we had done up to that point really didn't matter. It was what would happen in the next 7 races and to start with a win was a big boost!"

Since Mike Edwards Motorsports is a family operation it is only natural that Mike's sister, Marilyn, takes an active role in the family business. Besides her secretarial duties in the office, Marilyn is in charge of coordinating all Young Life pre-race programs prior to each NHRA racing event. She also helps organize sponsor and donor visits. "My sister contributes a lot to our program," Mike said. "She makes sure that as many Young Life kids as possible get a chance to come out and experience what drag racing is all about."

Most Memorable Championship Moment:The one moment that stands out to me is that ride back from the top end of the race track at the Winternationals in Pomona. They had just told Mike that he had clinched the championship, the whole crowd was on their feet and cheering as he was riding back to the starting line. I remember just feeling so proud and happy for him that he had finally achieved the goal that he had been working toward for a lot of years.
